Citric Acid Price Analysis
This week, citric acid market prices remained stable. End-user demand was weak, and downstream buyers were less enthusiastic about purchasing, maintaining a focus on restocking based on demand. As of Thursday, the mainstream transaction price for food-grade monohydrate citric acid was 4,800-5,000 yuan/ton, while the reference price for food-grade anhydrous citric acid was 5,000-5,300 yuan/ton.

Corn Market Analysis
Corn prices were generally weak this week. As of August 7, the national weekly average corn price was 2,395 yuan/ton, down 8 yuan/ton from the previous week.
Regionally, corn prices in Northeast China declined overall, with a weak futures market, negatively impacting the spot market. Traders' enthusiasm for shipments has increased, but downstream buyers are less enthusiastic.
Corn prices in North China remained generally stable, with some minor adjustments. Both local and Northeastern supply contributed to a relatively balanced market. Procurement prices remained generally stable, with a few companies making minor adjustments based on their own arrivals. Corn prices in sales regions generally declined, with futures prices continuing to fall throughout the week. Port traders' quotations followed suit, as companies in sales regions were urgently replenishing their corn inventories.

Citric Acid Market Outlook

Acid companies are supplying supplies normally, domestic downstream demand is average, and international demand has improved slightly, but overall it remains weak and below expectations.

Regarding raw materials, corn purchases and sales remain sluggish, prices remain weak, and upstream companies have reduced production costs.

Citric acid prices lack upward momentum, and negative factors are accumulating, creating a dilemma for price fluctuations. As an export-oriented industry, future price fluctuations in citric acid will focus on foreign trade contract signings.
