Looking at the market outlook, the price of raw material methanol has recently rebounded, and the cost of trichloromethane has increased. In the short term, the price of chloroform will be supported by costs. In the medium and long term, the market for trichloromethane will remain weak.
Dimethyl carbonate
At present, the overall trading atmosphere in the dimethyl carbonate market is light, and the wait-and-see atmosphere is strong. In the short term, the overall domestic dimethyl carbonate market will be weak and the market will continue to run.
Soda ash
The price rise of soda ash futures slowed down in night trading yesterday. Most of the spot market is stable, and the prices of light and heavy alkalis in Southwest China are slightly lowered.
It is currently in the seasonal inspection period of the industry, and there have been no new inspection devices in the past two days, and the operating rate of soda ash has remained at 84.16%. In the early stage, some maintenance enterprises plan to resume production, and pay attention to the dynamics of production resumption and new maintenance equipment. The sentiment on the demand side has improved recently, driven by some downstream inventory replenishment. The production and sales of enterprises can still maintain a balance, and the inventory may continue to decline significantly this week. On the whole, the main contract of soda ash breaks through the shock range of the past two months, and continues to operate strongly in the short term. Be alert to changes in market sentiment, and also need to pay attention to the intensity of later maintenance and the pace of new production capacity launch.
Caustic soda
In the first half of 2023, the price of caustic soda will be weak overall. Looking forward to the market outlook, domestic caustic soda prices are mainly stalemate, and the overall market conditions are weak. Although several enterprises were overhauled in July, the pre-overhaul enterprises resumed production one after another, and the supply of caustic soda is still relatively sufficient. And the downstream alumina enterprises are operating stably, the spot transactions are few, and the purchase orders are average, so the price of caustic soda in the later period is not optimistic, or the weak market will be maintained, and the downstream market demand should be paid more attention to.
